Leap Homebrew Engine enters a new era!

Gen7 was a large project originally started in 2018 as a completely different program, based on a Web interface and local toolchain compilation, and released on several forums such as GBAtemp (https://gbatemp.net/threads/gen7-engine-visual-programming-engine-for-switch.522648/ , https://gbatemp.net/threads/gen7-2-engine-free-edition-visual-programming-for-switch-wii-windows-and-web-new-features-free.561756/ , The VG Resource and others. Through the versions it won several awards such as the 4rd place in the Switch Homebrew Bounty https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-homebrew-bounty-month-1-and-the-winner-is.524208/, gathered more and more features and reached new milestones.

Gen7 since grew a lot, not only technically, but also in its content, in its organization, and and (special) communication. Successes have been made, mistakes too, and it allowed me to learn a lot in these experiences.
Everything was completely redone from scratch with a new and stable infrastructure, starting with the standalone IDE, the internal Python interpreter, under-the-hood workings… everything that shapes today Leap Homebrew Engine. It’s a legacy that will be remembered and will leave a mark, and to honor it several archives have been organized, be it in the Discord server for illustrations and screens (https://discord.gg/pXdeUqb), the more interactive content such as the website on (https://legacy.gen7.idpowered.com) and a GitHub repository (https://github.com/iyenal/legacy-gen7engine) for other content.

Today, the project is not only way different from what it used to be, but also far more mature, and have now little similarity to what it used to be known as, so it has been important to reflect this great and new milestone with a new identity as well that we’re sharing today. The adventure continues!

The transition to this new phase however is going to take some time, as a lot of content is around Gen7 Engine, some being obsolete, and some relevant. It is in progress and the content is being updated so still applicable to Leap Homebrew Engine, unless stated otherwise.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful adventure that continues further and further!
